Shipping without giving up your address
Recommended: Sign up for Canada Post FlexDelivery
It's free, and it doesn't require sharing your address at all. Sign up at canadapost-postescanada.ca (takes a couple minutes, needs a photo ID) and pick a post office near you as your pickup point. You get a FlexDelivery address to hand out instead of your home address — whoever's shipping to you sends it there like a normal Canada Post address, and you pick it up at the post office with ID.
Note: FlexDelivery works like a PO box, so it needs to go through Canada Post — if the sender wants to use a different private courier, it may not apply.
Other options in every swap and contribution thread
- PO box or parcel locker — if you already have one (UPS Store, Anytime Mailbox, etc.), share that instead of your home address.
- Share your real address — always your choice, never required. Useful if you already know the other person.
- Meet up locally — for same-city swaps, skip mail entirely and meet somewhere public.
Every swap and every craft-goal contribution has its own private message thread where you agree on a method and work out the details — never posted publicly.
Our goal for Odd Lot Co.
We know how important safety is — so we're working at bringing better, safer shipping options soon.
