Odd Lot Co.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

1. What Odd Lot Co. is

Odd Lot Co. ("we," "us," the "platform") is an online community where members ("you," "users," "crafters") post, browse, and arrange trades of craft tools and materials directly with each other, crowdsource materials toward personal craft projects, and share finished work and discussion. We provide the platform and tools that connect users โ€” we are not a party to any swap, sale, contribution, or shipment that happens between users, and we do not take ownership or custody of any item exchanged through the site.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your province/territory, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the platform, particularly before shipping items or agreeing to any cash top-up.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

When posting listings, craft goals, gallery pieces, or forum content, you agree not to:

  • Post or trade illegal items, counterfeit goods, hazardous materials, weapons, or anything prohibited from mail shipment by Canada Post or the carrier you use
  • Misrepresent the condition, quantity, or origin of items you're offering or requesting
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
  • Use the platform to collect other users' personal information for purposes outside an agreed swap
  • Post content you don't have the rights to (photos, written material, etc.)

We can remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

4. Swaps, contributions, and cash top-ups

All swap terms, craft goal contributions, and any agreed cash top-up are negotiated directly between users. We don't inspect, appraise, guarantee, or insure items exchanged through the platform, and we aren't responsible for a user who doesn't follow through on an agreed swap, contribution, or payment.

It's your responsibility to evaluate whether a proposed trade is fair, to negotiate the terms you're comfortable with, and to decide whether to accept, reject, or counter an offer. The platform provides the negotiation tools (accept/decline/counter-offer) and a private thread to talk it through โ€” it doesn't grade, guarantee, or arbitrate the deal itself.

Where cash top-ups are enabled through a payment processor, that processor's own terms and privacy policy also apply to that transaction. See our Shipping & Privacy page for how we currently handle (and don't yet handle) payments and shipping.

5. Shipping & your information

We design the platform so you're never required to share your home address or full legal name with another user directly. You're responsible for how you choose to ship or exchange items, including any address, PO box, or meetup details you decide to share with another user in a swap thread โ€” see Shipping & Privacy for details on how this works today.

6. Content you post

You keep ownership of photos, descriptions, and other content you post. By posting it, you give Odd Lot Co. a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and reformat that content on the platform (e.g. showing your gallery photo on the homepage or a listing thumbnail). You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to anything you post.

7. No warranty, limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we aren't liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from swaps, contributions, shipments, or interactions between users, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these terms as the platform changes; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason at our discretion, and you can close your account at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to the site owner via the contact details on our homepage.
